Founded in 1986 by Pastor Nathaniel Johnson and a devoted team from Aberdeen Bible Church, ICO began with a mission to serve those in need and strengthen families through faith and compassion. Welcome to Inner County Outreach, Inc. (ICO), a locally rooted, personcentered, and faith-based organization dedicated to serving minority and economically disadvantaged populations. Established in 1986, ICO emerged in response to the pressing need for youth and family support along the Route 40 Corridor of Harford County, MD.
At its inception, ICO introduced the Trinise Jones Summer Day Camp (TJSDC) and the AfterSchool Program (ASP) as pioneering initiatives to cater to the community’s needs. These programs quickly gained traction, laying the foundation for ICO’s enduring commitment to fostering stability and self-sufficiency among Harford County families.
Over the years, ICO has evolved and expanded its services to address a diverse range of challenges faced by the community. What began with a focus on academic support for all students, regardless of their circumstances, has blossomed into a comprehensive suite of twelve programs and services. These offerings embody our founder’s vision of delivering holistic support to the most vulnerable individuals and families.
Central to ICO’s mission is the provision of wraparound services to those grappling with adversity and trauma. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to combat financial, familial, and health-related challenges prevalent in our region. As one of the oldest nonprofit organizations in Harford County, ICO is committed to nurturing and empowering families and youth.
